NEXA Privacy Policy

NEXA is a dating and social connection application designed to help adults meet, communicate, form connections, and manage relationship-related features.

Effective: September 8, 2026Updated: October 14, 202618+ only

This Privacy Policy explains how NEXA (“NEXA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use the NEXA mobile application and related services.

By using NEXA, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Age Requirement

NEXA is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create or use NEXA accounts. If we discover that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may suspend or delete the account and associated information.

2. Information We May Collect

Depending on the features you choose to use, NEXA may collect information including:

NEXA will request device permissions only when they are necessary for a feature that requires them.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

4. Dating Profiles and Information Shared With Other Users

NEXA is a social and dating service. Certain information that a user chooses to add to their profile may be displayed to other eligible NEXA users.

This may include a display name, age, every photo on your profile, biography, gender, sexual orientation and who you are interested in (only if you chose to add them), whether you are online or when you were last active, and other profile information that the user chooses to make available.

Sexual orientation and gender identity are sensitive. NEXA asks for them only so that you can present yourself the way you want; they are optional, shown on your profile exactly as you entered them, never used for advertising, never inferred by NEXA, and never shared with third parties except the service providers that store NEXA's data.

Hiding and blocking. If you hide a member, they disappear from your Discover; they are not told and can still see and contact you, and you can undo it under Privacy & account > Hidden profiles. If you block a member, neither of you can see or contact the other. Hidden and blocked lists are private to you.

Users should not include sensitive information in their public profile that they do not want other users to see.

Private messages are intended for the participants in the relevant conversation and are not displayed publicly.

5. Photos and Media

Users may voluntarily upload photographs or other permitted media to create and use their NEXA profile and related features.

NEXA may process and store this content to provide the requested functionality, maintain service security, investigate reports and enforce platform rules.

Users remain responsible for ensuring that they have the right to upload content they submit to NEXA.

6. Birthday and Relationship Reminders

NEXA may provide optional birthday, anniversary and relationship-related reminder features.

If enabled, relevant information may be used to notify a connected partner or user about an upcoming event according to the user's settings and the functionality offered by NEXA.

Users will be provided with controls for applicable reminder and notification features.

7. Premium Subscriptions

NEXA may offer Premium subscriptions through Google Play.

Subscription options are a recurring monthly plan, which starts with a 3-day free trial once per NEXA account (NEXA records on your account that the trial was used and when it ends, so it is not offered twice and the yearly-only features switch off on time), and a recurring yearly plan without a trial. Google Play handles all billing.

Payments made through Google Play are processed by Google Play. NEXA does not receive or store a user's full payment-card details from Google Play transactions.

NEXA may receive and process transaction identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription status, entitlement information and related transaction information required to verify purchases, provide Premium access, prevent fraud and manage subscription status.

8. NEXA Gifts

NEXA may allow users to purchase and send virtual gifts, such as virtual flowers, hearts, teddy bears and other digital items.

Information relating to these transactions may be processed to complete the purchase, deliver the virtual item, prevent fraud and maintain transaction records where legally or operationally necessary.

Virtual gifts do not represent cash, stored monetary value or an investment unless NEXA explicitly states otherwise under applicable terms.

9. Service Providers

NEXA may use trusted service providers to operate application functionality.

These may include services for cloud hosting and databases, authentication, push notifications, security and fraud prevention, application diagnostics, payment and subscription processing, and customer support.

Our infrastructure includes Google services such as Firebase (authentication, database, storage, cloud functions and push notifications), Google Cloud and Google Play Billing.

In addition, the following providers receive specific content when you use the features that depend on them:

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their respective services and subject to their applicable terms, privacy practices and legal obligations.

10. Information Sharing

NEXA does not sell users' personal information.

Information may be shared where necessary:

11. Security

NEXA uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information.

Where information is transmitted between the application and our servers, appropriate secure communication technologies are used.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their login credentials and immediately report suspected unauthorized access.

Screenshots are not allowed. To protect members' photos and private conversations, the NEXA app does not allow screenshots or screen recordings on any of its screens and blanks the app preview in the recent-apps switcher. Capturing, copying or sharing another member's profile, photos, messages or calls outside NEXA is not allowed (see the Terms, section 10).

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide NEXA services, maintain an active account, fulfill legitimate operational requirements, prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal, accounting or regulatory obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable requirements.

When information is no longer required, it will be deleted or anonymized where appropriate, subject to lawful retention requirements.

13. Account and Data Deletion

NEXA users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data.

You can delete your account yourself in the Android app (Settings → Privacy & account → Delete account) or in the web app (Account → Delete account, confirmed with your password), or ask us by email through the account deletion page.

When an account deletion request is completed, personal data associated with the account will be deleted, except information that NEXA is legally required or legitimately permitted to retain for purposes such as fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping or compliance with applicable law.

Uninstalling NEXA from a device does not by itself delete a NEXA account.

What deletion removes. Deleting your account in the app or on the web removes, permanently and without a recovery period: your sign-in account; your profile and public profile; your photos, verification selfie and chat backgrounds; every conversation you were part of together with its messages, photos, videos, voice notes and files; your membership of every group (a group with fewer than two remaining members is deleted with its content); your likes, passes, blocks and the reports you made; your presence, entitlement, notification tokens and safety or moderation state; and your Google Play purchase links and gift records. What remains is: anonymous payment bookkeeping that Google Play requires NEXA to keep; the reason you gave for leaving (not linked to you); and safety reports that other members filed about your account, together with the administrator's record of how they were handled, which are kept as safety evidence as permitted by law so that a removed account cannot erase its record and start again.

14. User Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information, restriction of certain processing, withdrawal of applicable consent, and other privacy rights provided by applicable law.

Users may also manage applicable permissions and notifications through NEXA and their device settings.

15. Notifications

With user permission, NEXA may send push notifications concerning likes, connections, messages or interactions, birthday reminders, relationship reminders, subscription information, virtual gifts, safety or account information, and other relevant NEXA functionality.

Users may manage push-notification permissions through their device settings and applicable in-app controls.

15b. How Reports Are Handled

When you report a member, the report is stored with the reason you chose, what you wrote and, if you handed them over, the messages you selected. An administrator sees it as new, may mark it investigating while it is looked at, and closes it as resolved with the decision taken (nothing to answer, a warning, or a ban). Only a NEXA administrator can open the conversation behind a report, and every such opening is recorded in an audit log. The reported member is not told who reported them.

16. International Processing

Depending on where NEXA's infrastructure and service providers operate, information may be processed in countries other than the user's country of residence.

Where required, NEXA will apply appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

17. Messages, Translation and Group Chats

Replies. When you reply to a message, your reply stores a short quote of the original (its first lines, who wrote it and its message id) so it can be shown above your reply to the participants of that conversation and so that the original can be found with a tap. The quote lives and dies with your reply.

App language. The language you choose for the NEXA interface (app or website) is stored only on your device and in your browser, is never sent to NEXA's servers and is not part of your profile. It does not affect the translation of messages, which follows the native language on your account as described above.

Your native language (optional, shown on your profile), your chosen translation language and whether automatic translation is on are stored on your account so every device behaves the same. Messages you send to a member you are connected with (one of you has liked the other), and messages you send in a group chat (groups are part of the yearly plan; they can be created with connected members who look for friendship or who share interests with you), are stored so that the conversation can be delivered and displayed to the participants.

Every message you send is put into English by Google Cloud Translation at the moment it is sent, and the English copy and the detected source language are stored with the message for moderation and as a fallback; when a reader has translation on, the original message is translated straight into their native (or chosen) language by DeepL SE (or Google Cloud Translation when DeepL does not read that pair of languages), the result is cached with the message, and the message records which engine produced each translation. Translations can be switched off for what you read, but the English copy of what you send is always produced. Do not put information in a message that you would not want processed for translation.

Unread counts and sounds. Each conversation and group stores, per participant, how many messages that participant has not opened yet; the number is shown to that participant only (in the conversation list, on the Messages icon and in the web sidebar) and is reset when they open the conversation. Whether NEXA plays message and keyboard sounds is a setting kept on your device (Android app preferences) or in your browser (local storage) only; it is never sent to NEXA and is not linked to your account.

While you are writing a message, the other person is shown that you are typing. Only the fact that you are typing is shared, never what you have written, and the indication disappears on its own a few seconds after you stop.

Group chats can only be created between connected members who share at least one interest and are looking for friendship. Everything you write in a group is visible to every member of that group. Leaving a group does not delete the messages you already sent to it. The member who created a group can delete it; deletion removes the group and all of its messages, photos, voice notes and files for every member, and the data is not recoverable afterwards. Files that were sent to a deleted group are removed from storage on the same schedule as other deleted conversation media.

18. Voice and Video Calls

Voice and video calls, one-to-one and in groups of up to 32 people on the same call, are available on the yearly NEXA Premium plan (and during the 3 free days of the monthly plan) between people who are connected or who share a group. A call is only connected after the other side accepts it.

Permissions. A call needs your microphone, and a video call your camera. Android and your browser ask for these permissions the first time; you can refuse or withdraw them at any time in your device or browser settings, in which case calls will not work. To ring you when you are not in the app, NEXA sends an incoming-call push notification through Firebase Cloud Messaging; it carries the caller's name and the kind of call, nothing else.

Call metadata. For each call NEXA stores who started it, who was called, the group it belongs to (if any), whether it was voice or video, when it was started, answered and ended, and how it ended (accepted, declined, missed). This is used to ring the right people, to show a missed call, for billing and abuse prevention, and is deleted automatically within a few days of the call, unless it is needed for a report.

Video effects and backgrounds. Background blur, colour backgrounds, skin smoothing and low-light enhancement are computed on your own device. A photo you pick from your phone as a background is copied into the app's private storage on your device only, is never uploaded to NEXA and is replaced the next time you pick another; it is deleted when you uninstall the app. The other participants receive only the composed video, never the background file.

Reconnection. If your network changes during a call, the call tries to reconnect for up to 60 seconds; if it cannot, it ends and both sides are told.

Your camera and microphone are activated only while you are starting or taking part in a call, and you can revoke that permission at any time in your device or browser settings. If you leave the call screen while a call is going on (for example to open another app), the call continues in a small floating window and Android shows a "call in progress" notification for as long as it lasts; the camera and microphone stay on only for that call and stop the moment you hang up. Turning off the camera or microphone during a call stops that stream immediately.

Call audio and video travel through Agora's real-time network (Agora Lab, Inc.), our third-party communications provider, encrypted in transit; Agora processes the media only to deliver it between the participants and does not receive your name, e-mail or profile. NEXA does not record, store, listen to or transcribe the content of calls, and has no recording feature. Should one ever be added, it would be announced here and would require every participant's clear consent before a call could be recorded. We keep limited call records, as described above, for billing, abuse prevention and legal compliance.

Safety during communications. You can report or block a person from their profile or from the conversation at any time, including during a call; blocking ends any call with that person and prevents further calls, messages and group contact between you. Reports about calls are handled like every other report (section 15b), on the basis of the call metadata and what you tell us - never on the content of the call, which NEXA does not have.

19. Profile Details You Choose

Beyond the details required to open an account, you may add your interests, the languages you speak, your relationship intention, your hobbies, your lifestyle answers and other optional profile fields. These are shown on your public profile to other verified members, and shared interests may be displayed to another member as something you have in common.

Location. NEXA does not collect, store or use the location of your device: there is no GPS, no location permission and no location tracking. The only place information NEXA keeps is the city and country you type or choose in your profile, and that is what other verified members see. NEXA does not calculate or show the distance between members. You can change or clear your city and country at any time in Edit profile.

Optional steps can be skipped during profile setup and completed later, or removed, from Edit profile. Your gender, who you would like to meet, and what you are looking for are required, because they determine who is shown to you and to whom you are shown.

If you replace your profile photo, the new photo is checked again - automatically and, when needed, by an administrator (see section 19b) - and your profile returns to unverified until that check is completed. This applies equally in the Android app and on the web.

19b. Photo and Selfie Verification

What is analysed. When you submit a live verification selfie, and when you add a new profile photo, the image is screened automatically the moment it arrives. The screening looks at whether a face is present and whether only one person is shown, image quality, signs that the image was edited, generated or photographed off a screen, signals that the person may be under 18, and content that is not allowed (such as nudity, violence, weapons or drugs). Where face comparison is configured, the selfie is also compared with the first photo on your profile to confirm that both show the same person. A technical fingerprint of the file is used to detect a photo that another account has already used.

Providers. This screening is performed for NEXA by Google Cloud Vision (Google LLC) and Sightengine; where face comparison and a second age estimate are configured, the images are also processed by Face++ (Megvii). These providers receive the image only to return their analysis to NEXA.

Purpose. The results are used only to confirm that members are adults, to keep unsafe content off NEXA, and to check that a profile belongs to the real person using it. They are never used for advertising or profiling.

Human review. A clear result is decided automatically: the selfie is approved, or rejected with a reason you can act on by submitting a new one. Uncertain or serious cases are sent to a NEXA administrator, and any automatic decision can be reviewed, and reversed, by a person. If you think a decision is wrong, write to the support address below.

Retention. Your verification selfie and the screening results are kept only as long as they are needed for verification and safety, and are then deleted. The selfie is stored in a private location that only NEXA administrators can open and is deleted together with your account; the automated findings are removed automatically on a rolling schedule.

Photos you add to your profile after your identity is approved never remove your verified status. They remain subject to the same rule about being real photographs of you, and are reviewed again if somebody reports them.

20. Photos and Videos You Send in a Conversation

You can send a photo, a video, a voice note or a file inside a conversation with someone you are connected with, or in a group. The file is uploaded to NEXA's storage, into a folder that belongs to you inside that conversation, and only the two people in that conversation can open it.

A photo you send in a chat is not a profile photo and is not part of identity verification. It does not change how your profile appears in Discover, and sending one never verifies your identity.

These files are kept for as long as the conversation exists, so that both people can still see what was shared, with two exceptions. A photo or video you mark view once stores, next to the message, which receivers have opened it; when every receiver has, the file is deleted from storage and only the fact that it was opened remains. A message you delete for everyone has its text, its translations and its file removed from the conversation and from storage, and a placeholder ("This message was deleted") stays in the conversation. A message you delete for yourself is not removed: your account is noted on the message so it is hidden from you, and the other participants keep it. Deleting your account removes the files you uploaded, as described in the section on account and data deletion.

Voice notes are recorded on your device (the app and the browser ask for the microphone the first time) and uploaded as an audio file to the same folder as your other attachments. They are not transcribed, translated or screened automatically; like photos and videos, they are reviewed only when somebody reports them.

No downloads. Photos, videos and voice notes from a conversation are played inside NEXA only. The NEXA app blocks screenshots and screen recording and never hands a conversation file to another app. This protects what you send, but it cannot stop someone from photographing their screen with a second device - which the Terms forbid (section 10).

Chat backgrounds. When you choose a background for a conversation, NEXA stores your choice (the preset name, or the download address of the photo you uploaded to a private folder of your own) under your account id and the conversation id. Only you can read it; the other participants never see your background or know that you set one. Backgrounds are deleted with your account.

Message text is screened automatically before it is delivered. Photos and videos are not screened automatically; they are reviewed by an administrator when somebody reports them. Do not send anything you would not want reviewed, and never send images of a person who has not agreed to it.

21. Diagnostic and Crash Reports

When the app or the website runs into a fault, NEXA records what went wrong so that it can be fixed. A report contains the error message, the technical trace of where it happened, the app version, and the model and operating system of the device.

Each report also records the account identifiers of the members who ran into that fault, so that we can tell how many people are affected and how serious it is. Reports are visible only to NEXA administrators, are used solely to diagnose and fix faults, and are never used for advertising or profiling.

The same fault reported by many members is stored as a single record with a count. Reports are kept while the fault is open and after it is marked as fixed, as a record of what was corrected.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as NEXA evolves, new functionality is introduced, or legal and regulatory requirements change.

The updated Privacy Policy will display a revised “Last Updated” date.

Where required by applicable law, users will receive additional notice or be asked for consent regarding material changes.
